日本全体がラグビー熱に包まれたラグビーワールドカップの開幕から、きょう9月20日で1年になります。チームメートとの絆を深めてフィールドの外でも団結したのが、釜石シーウェイブスRFCに所属していたオーストラリア人のスコット・ファーディーさんと仲間たち。東日本大震災が発生した2011年、被災地に残って地元の救援活動に参加したファーディーさんが当時を振り返っています。
The Rugby World Cup 2019 kicked off one year ago in Japan. When it comes to making great teammates, it’s all about sticking by each other on and off the field. When the great earthquake and tsunami hit Kamaishi in 2011, Australian Rugby player Scott Fardy helped his fellow Kamaishi Seawaves recover from the disaster. Scott looks back on how he stayed to help his community.
